Executive Leadership

Dr. Agaezi Sonya, DHSc, MHA

Founder & Executive Director

Dr. Agaezi Sonya is the Founder and Executive Director of Charmony Foundation, leading its strategic vision to advance community health, wellness, and disease prevention. She holds a Doctorate in Health Science (Global Health concentration) and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration, with certifications in Integrative & Functional Medicine, Diabetes Education, and Global Health Delivery.

Her work focuses on reducing health disparities through prevention-focused programming, including chronic disease management, maternal health initiatives, nutrition education, and food security interventions. She has successfully implemented community-based strategies leveraging Community Health Workers and outreach programs across rural, urban, and underserved populations.

In addition to her public health leadership, she is a certified organic farmer and is completing a Master Gardener program, integrating sustainable food systems into community health initiatives.

Lisa Rander, MSW, MPA

Director of Family & Behavioral Services

Lisa Rander provides leadership for Charmony Foundation’s behavioral health, case management, and family support programs. She brings over a decade of experience in healthcare and social services, including hospice care, medical social work, and public health systems across Southern California.

She holds a Master of Social Work from Loma Linda University and a Master of Public Administration from California Baptist University. Lisa integrates clinical expertise with strategic program development and operational leadership, guiding multidisciplinary teams in delivering trauma-informed, patient-centered care.

She is recognized for her compassionate leadership, systems navigation expertise, and commitment to improving outcomes for individuals, families, and underserved communities.

Javier H. Lopez, PhD, MBA

Director of Housing & Social Programs

Javier H. Lopez leads Charmony Foundation’s housing and social programs, bringing extensive experience in homelessness services and community development.

He previously served as Executive Director of Valley Restart in Hemet, where he expanded emergency housing capacity through the development of 12 tiny homes and 10 County-provided trailers while improving facility infrastructure and service delivery systems.

He also teaches graduate-level courses in Public Administration and Social Impact at Claremont Lincoln University. Javier is deeply committed to serving the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley through Charmony Foundation’s mission and through active community service with Rotary, Knights of Columbus, and the Council on Aging.

Marcus Jimenez, DrPH, MPH

Director of Public Health & Training

Dr. Marcus Jimenez is a community-focused public health professional committed to advancing health equity, strengthening community partnerships, and expanding workforce opportunities for underserved populations.

He brings experience in community engagement, workforce development, and program design, with a focus on practical, scalable solutions that connect individuals to resources, education, and supportive services.

His work emphasizes collaboration between educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to promote health education, empowerment, and sustainable economic stability. He continues to champion initiatives that elevate community voices and improve access to health and social support systems.

Charmony Foundation collaborates with healthcare providers, community-based organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, and community leaders to expand impact and strengthen services.
